Details

The classic oak appearance of the Red Wood vinyl tile provides a dark-colored and cordial atmosphere to a residential basement. These tiles provide a warmer surface than concrete due to the thermal barrier created by the grid structure underneath each tile, which also allows air to circulate in order to manage the humidity in the basement. More importantly these basement tiles provide a comfortable surface for walking. You may install these tiles over chipped or uneven concrete. It may also be installed over any flat surface, including carpet, vinyl or concrete. With a four loop-to-peg snap-together system, the interlocking Red Wood tiles snap together, giving this DIY project an edge-to-edge appearance across the floating floor. These basement tiles contain a durable surface to put your heavy furniture on and are to be used in climate controlled environments. The Redwood basement interlocking vinyl top tiles are perfect for residential basements.

Easy to Assemble DIY Flooring

Conveniently, each tile measures at 12x12- inch (1 square foot), meaning the total square footage of your basement will be equal to the number of tiles you will need to cover your entire area. If you are going to be cutting the tiles for sizing purposes or to adjust to a stairway, stand still object or wall we recommend to cut with a jig-saw (with fine tooth blade). It is then suggested to order extra tiles, about 6% additional tiles from the amount needed. This will account for the waste. Before beginning the installation, you want to sweep your floor off from any dirt or dust. With a four loop-to-peg interlocking system, these tiles snap together in a puzzle-like installation while still remaining conveniently lightweight. Dismantling the floating floor in cases of flooding, leaks or moving residences, is just as simple as assembling the tiles together. The tiles are intended as a DIY installation project, so professional help is not necessary. Although these tiles can snap together with a single downward push, tools may be used to further ease your installation. The use of kneepads and a small plastic mallet is recommended for your convenience, if covering a large basement area.

Edge-to-Edge Appearance

Once these tiles are locked together properly, they form an edge-to-edge appearance due to the tiles’ straight-edge quality. When the tiles are assembled, you will notice small spaces between each tile which allows air to escape from underneath.

Durable Vinyl Top and Polymer Base

Manufactured with full UV protection and colorfast, these interlocking basement tiles are resistant to fading and staining. The vinyl that creates their warm wooden surface is as durable as it is appealing. These tiles can support the heavy weight of pool tables, sofas, and other large items you may find in a basement. They can also handle the average foot traffic in a basement. The high-impact polypropylene base provides a strong and rigid foundation resulting in a durable basement flooring solution. These tiles can be easily cleaned with mild soap and water or with a Swiffer and can last for years when maintained properly.

Grid Structure

Lying beneath the surface of every basement tile is a rigid grid structure. This intricate framework is designed to allow moisture to escape and air to circulate in order to avoid mold and mildew development underneath the tiles. Another important element aside from the ventilation factor is the actual material used to manufacture the grid structure: high-impact polypropylene. This is a mold resisting plastic that deters microorganisms from growing on the tiles. It is important to note that although these products are made to withstand water, they are best used in drier basements where water is not a frequent factor. In the event of a flood, you will need to disassemble the tiles to allow the subfloor and interlocking tiles to dry.

Variety of Other Uses

The Red Wood vinyl top tiles have a very neutral look that, along with their other aspects, can be used in other situations, not only for basement flooring. Other uses include trade shows, home offices, and temporary dance floors.
