ModuTile is a US manufacturer of specialty flooring and garage solutions. Our products include interlocking floor tiles that can be used outdoors, in basements, garages, patios, workshops, or anywhere a portable, affordable, and attractive floor is desired. We sell our products directly to consumers on our website and via large online retailers such as Sam’s Club, Wal-Mart, Amazon, Overstock and many others. In early 2016, we introduced a DIY outdoor basketball floor kit for residential backyards.
To celebrate the recent success we have had selling basketball floor kits, we are awarding two $1,000 scholarships per year: one for the Fall semester and one for the Spring semester. This web page officially announces our first annual ModuTile Spring semester scholarship. Our hope is to help a deserving student with the cost of his or her college education. This is your chance to win a scholarship to be applied toward your college tuition or fees.
We are proudly offering a $1,000 scholarship award to be issued for the Spring 2017 semester. No purchase is necessary to be eligible for the scholarship.
The scholarship contest is open to current undergraduate or graduate students who are enrolled in an accredited US college or university during the Fall 2016 semester. Current non-students are eligible if they can provide proof of enrollment for the Spring 2017 semester at the time the winner is contacted (see “Scholarship Winner” section for dates).
The deadline to enter is December 1, 2016.

Garage Organization Essay Prompt
In winter of 2016, we will launch a new DIY garage storage and organization product line. When creating our new product line, we considered the use of walls, floors and even the ceiling to maximize the storage capacity. With our direct sales model via ModuTile.com, we are able to pass considerable savings to our customers without sacrificing product quality. However, since we are not servicing our customers locally, we have transportation constraints due to size, weight and space. We had to consider materials that are cost effective and are easy to transport to any customer in the US.
That was our task. Now for yours:
Picture a typical residential two-car garage and how you would organize it using any product on the market (think The Home Depot, Lowe’s, or any other garage organization company). Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a complete home garage makeover. The goal is to reduce clutter, increase functionality of the space while maintaining aesthetics. Create a budget and let us know how much your garage remodeling project would cost. Give concrete examples of what you would buy and how much you would spend. Discuss the garage organizational products you would use and why you have chosen them.
If desired, you could construct your own products for the makeover. If so, discuss the materials you would use and how you would go about making a quality product (i.e., custom cabinets). Is it worth the time and effort compared to buying a pre-fabricated product? If construction is not for you, maybe you can find a company that would do a complete custom installation. Of course, you can always do a combination of any of the above methods. It is your choice. It is your garage makeover. You may include a sketch to illustrate your garage organization idea, but it is not necessary.
The winning essay will be thoughtful and well-organized. The subject line of your email should reference “ModuTile Spring 2017 Scholarship Essay.” You should include your full, legal name, email address, telephone number, and the name of the college you attend.
Only one entry per student will be considered.
Your email submission is your consent to transfer ownership of your essay to ModuTile. We reserve the right to publish your essay and photo at the conclusion of the contest.
The best entry will be selected by ModuTile’s DIY garage storage team at the sole discretion of the team by Thursday, December 22, 2016, and the winner will be contacted via the email used for submitting the essay. No further emails will be sent and student contact information will not be shared. At that time, we will require a photo of yourself and proof of enrollment. We will also expect you to submit a signed statement indicating that your essay is your own original work, not copied from any source or written by anyone else in order to claim the award. We reserve the right to use turnitin.com software to verify that the essay is not plagiarized.
Your name, photo, and the name of your college will be announced on our website and social media sites.
If an acceptance response is not received within seven days, then a secondary winner will be selected. The scholarship winner will then be published on our website and the $1,000.00 scholarship award will be forwarded to the applicable college or university in the U.S. on behalf of the winner.
